Vision Rehabilitation
Dr. Chris Palmer is an International Academy of Low Vision Specialists (IALVS) member and Illinois College of Optometry graduate. He provides his unique care to those suffering from conditions including: Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma, Diabetes, Cataracts, RP, and Albinism. He serves patients from MN, WI, IA, ND and SD with office locations in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Twin Cities and St. Cloud areas. He has also started working with In-House Senior Services to provide his care to senior living community residents throughout the State of Minnesota.

Dr. Palmer uses specialized, custom designed glasses including bioptic telescopes and prismatics to help people improve their abilites to drive, read their mail, play cards, recognize faces and watch TV, as well as their independence and quality of life.

Spectacle Miniature Telescopes
Designed for tasks requiring better central vision and mobility, these glasses are used by drivers to see signs and traffic lights, by grandparents to see grandchildren playing soccer, and bridge players to see cards on the table.​

Implantable Miniature Telescopes
This cataract implant is surgically placed in one eye to magnify distance images. There are many criteria for acceptance into the program to minimize the risks that are always present with surgery.

ClearImage II MicroScope Glasses
Two high-powered lenses "piggybacked" for crystal clear images are prescribed for reading small print.​

Spectacle Prismatic Glasses
These moderate powered lenses are useful for near tasks like reading, writing and handicrafts.

E-Scoop Contrast Enhancing Glasses
These lenses combine five special optical elements that create a larger, clearer, higher contrast image. One patient improved his golf score dramatically while wearing them. Another explained, "This is the clearest I have seen in years." They must be seen to be believed.​
